Move cheaply! - De Jong Verhuizingen ## Planning to study in Sweden? Are you planning to study in Sweden? As an exchange student, for a minor, or for a full program? Great choice! Especially student cities like Lund and Uppsala are booming. Besides preparing for your new studies or exchange, you also have to consider practical matters like your move. Have you thought about this yet? ## Universities in Uppsala and Gothenburg Sweden has three very well-known [universities](https://www.uu.se/en) : [Uppsala](https://www.uu.se/en) , [Lund](https://www.lunduniversity.lu.se/) ,and [Göteborg](https://www.gu.se/en) . Of course, the capital Stockholm is also popular, but generally young people choose Uppsala or Lund. Lund is highly sought after due to the large student population and offers plenty of options for technically oriented studies. Sweden is a leader in innovation and technological development. Uppsala is home to the country’s oldest university. ![Uppsala studentenstad Zweden](https://dejongverhuizingen.com/content/uploads/sites/2/2026/01/Uppsala-studentenstad-in-Zweden.jpg) ## Free higher education in Sweden Did you know you don’t have to pay tuition fees in Sweden for higher education? This is offered free of charge to all EU students, and even though you don’t have tuition costs, you are often still entitled to student financial support. Are you doing a minor or an exchange program? Then you remain enrolled at your Dutch university or college. This allows you to retain the right to receive student financing, as the temporary study in Sweden is considered part of your current program in the Netherlands. Prefer to pursue a full program in Sweden? You don’t need to worry either. Check with DUO (Dutch student finance agency) about the possibilities of financial support abroad. ![Student in Zweden](https://dejongverhuizingen.com/content/uploads/sites/2/2026/01/Student-in-Zweden.jpg) ## Finding housing Since prices vary by location, we recommend first requesting information from your local university or college.
